Sandra and Ray Entwistle, our J/Boat dealers from Australia, had friends sail their J/122 LITHIUM from Auckland, NZ to Sydney, Australia, a distance of 1,350 nautical miles.
We started sailing a Pearson 26 about 25 years ago. We had a growing family of two sons and a daughter and somehow all of us fit into the boat and cruised northern Lake Michigan waters. Later we moved up to an Ericson 29 and then a new Cal 33.
Portsmouth (R.I.) December 13, 2002 -- Duane and Mary Minard, crew of J/44 Quest, were honored with a US SAILING Arthur B. Hanson Rescue Medal for rescuing a solo sailor on Long Island Sound, after his boat caught fire from a gas engine explosion.
This was not easy with about 200 other boats needing some form of fitting out or tuning prior to the Bermuda Race and the start of the cruising season. On Tuesday, June 11th, George Borges was spraying the dark blue Awlgrip on the J/42 hull in a booth in Providence.
